Project Overview
The Northern Lights 2023 Expansion Project will allow Northern to accommodate requests from its customers for firm natural gas transportation capacity along Northern's existing pipeline system. To meet these requests, Northern is proposing to construct and operate the pipeline facilities described in the table provided below. On March 28, 2022, Northern filed a section 7 application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requesting approval to construct and operate the facilities. FERC issued An Order Issuing Certificate September 25, 2023, granting approval of the project. On April 9, 2024, FERC issued approval to commence construction. The following table provides the date Northern plans to start construction on each of the project facilities to meet a November 1, 2024, in-service date.
