Complete and submit this request form to have Northern automatically schedule storage injections when a loss of market occurs and/or storage withdrawals when a loss of supply occurs in order to keep pooling and transportation contracts in balance.

Storage Balancing Service

Any request with a start date of the current gas day will be effective for the next nomination cycle (excluding the Final A.M. cycle) after Northern receives and validates the request during regular business hours. End date indicates the last day SBS will be active. SBS will be terminated at the end of the designated gas day.

Shipper hereby requests SBS on the above designated contract(s). Shipper understands that its storage account(s) listed below will be automatically adjusted, as necessary and in the order of listed ranking, to balance said contract(s). SBS may be terminated by Shipper or Northern by providing the other party prior notice. SBS may be suspended by Northern if Shipper is or becomes non-creditworthy and fails to provide the appropriate security.

¹ Designating a specific storage point name and POI number is only necessary when the:
SBS request is for an MPS Service Agreement, and
Storage contract is an FDD Service Agreement (selected storage point must be a valid point on the FDD Service Agreement), and
Desired storage point is not associated with the MPS pooling point.

² A transportation contract number must be included if the SBS request form is for an MPS Service Agreement. Transportation charges will apply if the storage point is not associated with the pooling point.

Shipper, by execution of this form, certifies that Shipper has a currently effective transportation contract with Northern and has title or contractual right to acquire title to the gas to be injected/withdrawn into the storage accounts. SBS will be performed within the existing parameters of Northern’s Deferred Delivery Rate Schedules (FDD and IDD). Shipper shall be responsible for any imbalances on the transportation contracts that are not able to be injected/withdrawn from Shipper’s accounts and any variance charges or penalties that may result on the transportation contracts.

Shipper understands that this service option may not be available in the event of allocations of Northern’s storage service and transportation service associated with storage nominations during transportation allocations.

SBS is subject to the terms of Northern’s F.E.R.C. Gas Tariff.
